Jr Asset Manager (Top Secret clearance required)

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Responsible for developing, documenting and training the asset policies and procedures for a DoD organization.
  • Assist Asset lead in completing objectives.
  • Develop and maintain Site Business Process Guides which will include objectives and procedures/rules for accounting for property and assets
  • Document and train personnel on the reconciliation of the organization’s Asset Valuation and Tracking (AV&T) Report compared to the Accountable Property System of Record (APSR)
  • Conduct site training on proper asset recording and reporting documented in the Site Business Process Guides
  • Understand the asset process from acquire to retire including deprecation
  • Coordinate asset accountability activities with the Contractor CFO team and the Government Program Management
  • Perform analysis and provide asset schedules in support of the asset audit readiness effort
  • Maintain an understanding of the changes/updates to Federal Asset Accounting Regulations and determine if the organization’s asset process requires modifications
  • Provide detailed verbal and written responses to Site personnel asset inquiries
  • Track Site personnel questions/comments and resolutions
  • Update the asset reporting rules, processes, and procedures


  • 3+ years in experience in accounting for assets with experience in Logistics
  • Knowledge of DoD asset regulations  to include DOD FMR (Financial Management Regulation), Defense Property Accountability, DoDI (Instruction), Statement of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), Defense Procurement and Acquisition Policy, Property & Equipment Policy Office – OUSD (AT&L) – FIAR Guidance, Valuation, Property Accountability
  • Required knowledge in related laws, regulations, methods, etc.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel and industry partners
  • Able to travel within the organizational area of responsibility (30% travel)
  • Develop and perform briefings for Government Program Management
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel
  • Identify solutions for asset scenarios/exceptions unique to a specific site
  • Experience producing professional and accurate reports and documents


  • Possess ability to interact with multiple personnel to resolve issues and answer questions
  • Experience using advanced features of MS Word and MS Excel


  • Have a bachelor’s degree or relevant equivalent experience

Security Clearance:

  • Must have a Top Secret clearance with active SCI (requires US Citizenship)
